What this comparison can tell you
Our rate tables produce indicative planning ranges, not a certified fair price. A comparison depends on matching quantities, scope, location and VAT. When those are unclear, we ask for details or withhold the comparison. A price outside the modelled range does not by itself mean a tradesperson is overcharging.
Common questions
Is the quote checker free?
Yes. Paste your quote or upload a photo and you'll get a verdict for free, with no signup. You only give an email if you want the result saved and sent to you.
What is the comparison based on?
We compare the stated work with modelled planning allowances from our rate tables, adjusted for area when we can resolve it. These are not independently measured local market prices. Missing quantities or uncertain scope can prevent a comparison.
Do you contact my tradesperson or share my quote?
No. Your quote stays private. We never contact the tradesperson and nobody gets your details — the check is just between you and Percy.
What if my quote covers more than one job?
We break it down and check each job separately — you'll see a per-job breakdown, plus a combined range when we can price everything on the quote. For a detailed estimate of each part, ask Percy in the chat.
